Soludo Re-Elected Anambra Governor, Wins by Wide Margin

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo winner of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State, securing a second term in office.

The announcement was made on Sunday in Awka by the Returning Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin.

Running on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo won convincingly with 422,664 votes. His closest challenger, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed behind with 99,445 votes, while the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Paul Chukwuma, came third with 37,753 votes.

The Labour Party flag bearer, George Moghalu, recorded 10,576 votes, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate backed by a coalition, John Nwosu, finished with 8,208 votes.

With this result, Soludo retained his seat at the Government House, Awka, securing a strong mandate to continue his administration’s policies and reforms.
