Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, stormed Abuja for a high-powered stakeholders’ meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
Confirming his presence via X, Atiku wrote:
> “I am currently at the stakeholders’ meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. It’s a meeting of the Nigerian people against the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity in the land.”
The gathering comes just months after Atiku, alongside other opposition heavyweights — ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi, ex-SGF Babachir Lawal, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi — jointly adopted the ADC as their new political platform in July.
As part of the coalition’s formation, David Mark was named interim National Chairman, while former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola took charge as interim National Secretary.
With 2027 fast approaching, Atiku is widely expected to clinch the ADC presidential ticket, setting the stage for a fierce battle a
