Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has added another historic feat to her name, as Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially recognised her for preparing the world’s largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In a statement shared on its official X handle, GWR announced:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The record-breaking achievement took place on September 12, 2025, during the Gino World Jollof Festival at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The grand culinary event attracted thousands of food lovers and generated a massive buzz across social media.
Hilda Baci, who shot to global fame in 2023 after setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now further cemented her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
The colourful festival was graced by several high-profile personalities, including actress Funke Akindele, media personalities Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Tomike Adeoye, as well as Pastor Idowu. Also in attendance was Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, among other dignitaries who came to support the record-breaking feat.
