The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has officially handed over leadership of the commission to May Agbamuche, the oldest serving National Commissioner.
Yakubu made the announcement on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
He urged commissioners and directors of the commission to extend their full support to Agbamuche, who will oversee the affairs of INEC pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
