Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday worshipped at St. Paul’s Cathedral in his hometown, Opobo, marking his first public visit since resuming office after six months of emergency rule.
The visit came just two days after Fubara’s statewide broadcast in which he hailed President Bola Tinubu for brokering peace among major stakeholders — including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly — bringing an end to the prolonged political standoff.
“With the crisis now behind us, peace and stability have returned to Rivers State,” Fubara declared, pledging renewed focus on reconciliation, governance, and development.
Daily lens Report that The governor promised to complete ongoing projects in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, revive the state’s economy, and foster closer collaboration with lawmakers. He urged Rivers people to put aside political divisions and work together for “a stronger, more peaceful and prosperous Rivers State.”
Fubara also expressed gratitude to Tinubu, the National Assembly, religious leaders, and citizens for their patience and resilience throughout the crisis.
