National Grid Collapse Causes Widespread Power Outage in Nigeria
Nigeria’s national grid collapsed on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, plunging many parts of the country into darkness.
According to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), the collapse occurred at 11:23 am, leading to a sudden loss of supply from the national grid. The outage affected AEDC franchise areas, including Abuja, Niger, Kogi, and Nasarawa states.
In a public notice, AEDC confirmed the incident and assured customers that technicians are working to restore the grid to stability.
