Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen lit up Amsterdam on Wednesday night, producing a sensational hat-trick to guide Galatasaray to a dominant 3–0 victory over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.
The Super Eagles forward was simply unstoppable. After a cagey opening half, Osimhen rose to the occasion in the 59th minute, powering home a superb header from Leroy Sané’s pinpoint cross to open the scoring.
Just seven minutes later, he doubled the lead, coolly slotting in from the penalty spot after Ajax defender Youri Baas was penalised for a handball in the box.
Osimhen completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute with yet another well-taken penalty, this time following a handball by Gerald Alders, securing both his first Champions League treble for Galatasaray and the silence of the home crowd.
The victory places the Turkish giants within touching distance of Champions League qualification — and establishes Osimhen, once again, as one of Europe’s most lethal finishers.
