Chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has lamented that selfish interests within the opposition are preventing the formation of a united front capable of unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking on ARISE Television’s Prime Time on Monday, Galadima described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a “conglomeration of politicians,” stressing that opposition leaders already know which alliances could secure victory but are unwilling to set aside personal ambitions.

> “I could have wished all of us to come together to unseat the present government, but because of selfishness… All of them know who and who can be combined to win the election. The question is, are we ready to do that?” he asked.

Commenting on the recent meeting between former President Goodluck Jonathan and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Galadima said the duo must rally behind a single candidate if the opposition is serious about defeating Tinubu.

He argued that an alliance between Jonathan and Obi could serve as a powerful political strategy to rescue Nigerians from the current economic hardship.

“If they (Jonathan and Obi) can come together and bring one person, you will see the whole country fall in line. It is a political strategy to get us out of this hardship,”

he added.
