The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers linked to a violent attack on popular Lagos singer, Lil-Kesh, at Bera Estate, Chevron, on August 19.

Command spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a Saturday statement, said operatives acting on intelligence swooped in on September 11 and arrested the suspects — Mathew Adewole, 25, of Na’ibawa Quarters, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, of Unguwa Uku Quarters — at Na’ibawa, Kano.

During the attack, Adewole allegedly slit the victim’s neck and forced a transfer of ₦2.12 million to Muhammad’s account via mobile banking. Police confirmed Adewole has confessed to the crime, which was already under probe by the Lagos Command.

The suspects have now been handed over to Lagos authorities for further investigation and prosecution.

Kano Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives’ swift action, stressing that intelligence-driven policing and public cooperation remain vital in tackling crime.

He assured that the Command, in line with IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s directives, will continue strengthening security partnerships to safeguard lives and property.
